Sonia has been learning Bharata Natyam for the past seven years. She started her training in the Rangoli School of Dance in Los Angeles, and continued with Guru Shobha Raman in the Kalalaya School for the Performing Arts in Auburn near Seattle area.

She is naturally very expressive and therefore she excels in the Saathvik Abhinaya – the facial expressions element of the dance. Look at her face while you are watching her perform! She has received numerous compliments for her expressiveness in the art of Bharata Natyam.

Apart from dancing Sonia enjoys participating in other performing arts such as singing, drama, and playing piano.
