Students of Guru Shobha Raman, these three girls dedicated seven years to their Bharata Natyam training.
On October 1, 2006, in Seattle, the trio will offer their Arangetram – Début Performance to all connoisseurs, well-wishers, friends, and fans.
This event signifies the beginning of their professional career as Bharata Natyam dancers.
The repertoire of Varanam Trio includes a variety of Indian Classical Dances. Some items, such as Shabdam, Varanam and Jatiswaram conform to the traditional Bharata Natyam School. Others, such as Kucchipuddhi Krishna Varanam and Shanmugha Kautuvam are enriching the performers’ experience with elements from different Indian dance styles. The girls perform every item with dynamism, vigor, superb form and expression, while acknowledging even the smallest detail contributing to the underlining story.
Their mastery and professionalism, however, have already been admitted by the dilettantes, fans and the Indian community throughout Seattle area.
The newest challenge the girls are undertaking is teaching. They are invited to teach Bharata Natyam in a Boys and Girls Club in Redmond, Washington.
